That’s a Wrap on Quantum Snow
We won several startup competitions, built a benchtop prototype, made a small pile of perfect powder, raised a pre-seed round, got invited on Neil deGrasse Tyson’s show, moved into our headquarters in Woods Cross, built a bigger prototype, made a big pile of perfect powder, then couldn’t finish raising our seed round and had to close. We showed that the “Greatest Snow on Earth“ (perfect 5% density dendritic snow crystals) could be made by our machine, but hardware is hard, and cool science doesn’t always make for easy funding. It was a hell of a ride with a hell of a team. We’re so grateful for all the amazing people who helped us along the way, and we couldn’t have come even half this far without all of you. We hope someday that real powder snowmaking will make it to ski resorts – it just won’t be us bringing it there. Enjoy some cool photos from our journey.
